History of Nantyr
Nantyr Outdoor Education Centre was originally the village school for the community in the surrounding area. From the 1950s the centre was owned by St. George’s Secondary Modern School on the Wirral who used the centre as a base for residential work and field studies. 1991 saw Wrexham County Borough Council take over the ownership overseeing its development until the present day. In 2008 the centre will be undertaking further development with the addition of a multi purpose training / recreational room. Although the type of use may have changed we are proud that the building continues to function as a facility for young people and the local community.
