A great personal and group challenge, routes are selected specific
to the aims and aspirations of the group and explore the wonderful
local upland environments. Participants will be encouraged to take
ownership of the day, being involved with route selection, personal
and group responsibility and leading the group. Navigational skills
and a greater awareness towards the local outdoor environment will
be developed on the hill.
Purpose

Rock
climbing and abseiling |
A great introduction to this exciting sport,
using our onsite artificial wall and local outdoor crags. Participants
will be taught ropework and safety skills and will then operate in small
groups to maximise development of climbing and movement techniques. Abseiling
involves using ropes to descend a rock face and can either be incorporated
in to a climbing session or ran as a separate activity.

Gorge

An
exciting and challenging activity, the group works together to navigate
through a gorge involving scrambling and climbing (expect to get
wet!).
Purpose

Canoeing

Kayaking
|
Working
in a small team per boat (2 or 3) participants will quickly get out
on the water under their own steam. Progressive exercises ensure
students pick up the skills rapidly with ample time for fun, games
and journeying.
Paddling their own kayak students
will quickly gain skills and confidence in this fun sport. A great
way of getting out on the water in your own craft under the watchful
eye of the instructor. Skill development, fun and games will be
the main focus of the session.
