Courses & Events
Programme
Courses are tailor-made to meet the aims, needs and aspirations of individual groups. Courses can be of variable duration and can be designed to focus on a particular theme, issue or support educational plans. Party leaders are encouraged to contact the centre to discuss their requirements.
Environmental education & field studies
The local area includes a great diversity of field study sites all within easy driving distance from the centre. The centre can provide technical support and act as an ideal base for teachers and schools to extend their curricular work into the outdoor environment.
Children’s University
It is our aim to accredit young people’s efforts and achievements whilst participating on courses operated by Nantyr Outdoor Education Centre through the Wrexham Children’s University Programme (certain qualifying criteria need to be met).
The John Muir Award
The John Muir Award is an environmental Award scheme focused on wild places. The environments in proximity to the centre and the activities carried out provide a medium to undertake this award. The Award is non-competitive, open to all and is the educational initiative of the John Muir Trust. It encourages the discovery and conservation of wild places, in a spirit of fun, adventure and exploration. (Certain qualifying criteria need to be met).
What would you like to do?
At Nantyr we are striving to develop a broad and diverse use of the centre and its resources in an effort to make it as accessible to as many different users as possible. We would positively support any suggestions or ideas for alternative use of the centre, which are fitting with our stated aims.
